Big Fish

Due to the ongoing state of emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and at the guidance and recommendations of national, state, and local health officials, Olathe Civic Theatre Association has made the difficult decision to cancel the production of Big Fish. We are extremely grateful for the hard work the cast and crew have already put into this show, and this decision is not made lightly.

At this time there are no known cases of COVID-19 among the cast and crew of Big Fish, and the safety of our actors, crew, audiences, and volunteers remain our absolute priority.

If it becomes feasible, every effort will be made to reschedule the production at a later time, however, due to the unprecedented nature of this situation no other information is available in regard to this or other shows at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep everyone informed of future plans.

Book by John August | Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa

Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the Columbia Motion Picture written by John August

Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to become a father himself, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. …an extraordinary musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre.
