COVID-19 Updates

UPDATED April 26, 2022

With the decision to reopen combined with the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic and its variants, the board is working to maintain the goal of ensuring the safety of our actors, crews, volunteers, and patrons as the utmost priority. Therefore, to ensure it is possible to safely produce a full-scale show, we will be exercising the below safety and health precautions.

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES

Following current local and CDC Guidelines, as well as current COVID trends in Johnson County, the Board of Directors for Olathe Civic Theatre Association has revised its COVID policies effective April 26, 2022.

MASKS:

Out of an abundance of caution with recent reports of COVID cases, effective immediately OCTA is requiring everyone (regardless of vaccination status) to wear a mask when not actively eating, drinking, or acting on stage while in the building. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for helping us keep live theater available to everyone. Masks will be available at the door for patrons who don’t have one with them.

Please note that all of our actors are vaccinated and will not be wearing masks while performing on stage. All of our board members are also fully vaccinated but will be masked.

Proof of Vaccination:

OCTA is no longer checking vaccination cards at the door.

Concessions:

OCTA will be offering concessions during intermission (individually sealed snacks, wine, coffee, soda, and water).  The drinking fountain remains closed for the safety of our patrons.

Social distancing:

OCTA is seating at full capacity.  Social distancing is encouraged at all other times.

Hand Sanitizer

Two sensor sanitizer stations are available at the theatre entrance and additional sanitizer is located at the concessions stand. We encourage patrons to utilize these before entering the theatre and taking their seats.

All above measures are expected to remain in effect for the duration of the 2021-2022 season
