Shelly Stewart Banks has been an OCTA Board Member since 2008, but started her love of theatre with OCTA in 1975 as a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz. Shelly wears many hats as a board member and is currently the Buddy Awards chair, the Historian, co-chair of the Jan Conner Scholarship Fund, and now President. For OCTA Shelly has directed I Hate Hamlet, Little Me, Rabbit Hole, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, [title of show], The 39 Steps, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, several fundraisers, and has written and emceed both OCTA Is Home for the Holidays and the Buddy Awards for several years. She is also a member of the Olathe Arts Alliance representing OCTA and has directed Olathe’s Got Talent for the Noon Optimists for the last three years. She shares her life with her loves, husband Chris, dogs Eddie and Josie, and cats Samantha, Willie, Simon, and Charlie.
