Benefit Cabaret in Olathe, KS

The Vision: A one-night benefit concert of musical theatre songs performed by local artists, raising funds and awareness for congenital heart defects (CHD). CHD is the most common birth defect affecting 1 in every 100 babies. Many children require surgeries, ongoing treatment, and lifelong care. February is American Heart Month, the perfect time to spotlight CHD awareness and fundraising.

This cause is a deeply personal one for hosts, Nancy and Scott Kruse. Their son Stark was born with a congenital heart defect, a ventricular septal defect (VSD) and at just 5 months old underwent open heart surgery to attempt to close the VSD. They are forever grateful to the Children’s Mercy Cardiac Department for their lifesaving care. This event is a way to give back! The evening will blend powerful music with personal stories to celebrate resilience, community, and hope.
