REVOLUTIONS: A New Musical Workshop

The debut premiere of Zack Omen’s hip-hOPERA, REVOLUTIONS!

event summary

Revolutions is a “hip-hOPERA” sharing the story of Horatio Nelson Jackson and his partner Sewall Crocker in their journey across the United States in a 1903 motorcar. The show is fast paced, clever, and a true account of this historical event.

Musician and writer Zach Omer began creating Revolutions in 2020 as his COVID passion project. He has always had a knack for rhyming rap lyrics and was inspired by the untold story of Jackson and Crocker’s journey across the nation. The creation of the show is to bring a new edge to theater in which the dialogue is minimal and the rhythmic rap drives the plot forward. Revolutions is catchy, clever, and accurately showcases the heartwarming tale of the challenging first completed drive from the West to East coast.

Sandstone invites you to join us in support of new works and local talent. Following the debut premiere show on July 31st, we are holding a live talkback with writer Zach Omer to answer any questions, and get audience feedback and comments. Your participation and engagement is invaluable to us.
