Musical of Hope, Love, and Acceptance plays through Sept. 26, 2021

Olathe, KS (September 25, 2021) – Olathe Civic Theatre Association kicks off their 2021-2022 season with a Stephen Schwartz and John Caird classic: CHILDREN OF EDEN, the first main stage show since the pandemic.

Opening weekend saw celebratory crowds, inspiring hope and a sense of normalcy. OCTA enforces a mask and proof of vaccination or negative COVID-test policy. This didn’t stop audiences from enjoying the 15-person cast, complete with projections and 10 TVs mounted on stage. If the beautiful music wasn’t enough, Joel Walley’s set design definitely impressed.

Directed by Julie Ewing and music directed by Kevin Bogan, CHILDREN OF EDEN runs 3 weekends September 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, and 24, 25, 26. Evenings begin at 8:00pm, matinees at 2:00pm.

Ewing and Bogan are no strangers to OCTA. In her spare time, Ewing cheers on the Chiefs and serves alongside her husband at Living Waters Canoe Ministry. Bogan is the Traditional Worship Director at Leawood’s Church of the Resurrection and also enjoys the art of cooking.
